Lib Dems Win in Delayed New Malden Village Election

KLD

Liberal Democrats in New Malden Village have thanked local residents after they backed the team of Mark Durrant, Lesley Heap and Robert Kim in the delayed election.

The final poll in this year's round of local elections was delayed until June after an independent candidate in New Malden Village sadly passed away during the campaign.

Control of Kingston Council is firmly with the Liberal Democrats after they won a total of 44 out of 48 councillors in this year's round of local elections, with residents in all but one ward represented by at least one Lib Dem.

Cllr Andreas Kirsch, Lib Dem Leader of Kingston Council, said, "Thanks to residents in New Malden Village backing our strong, local team of Mark, Lesley and Robert, Liberal Democrats in Kingston have had our best ever results. We've already started working hard to deliver our vision of a fairer, greener, safer Borough."
